I'll start with some of the projects that I have already done around the house. This first one was simple. I took a pencil and a stencil (see how I rhymed!) and stenciled the words "Live, Laugh, Love" above our living room windows. Then I filled them in with brown paint. It took me probably 3 hours total to do the whole thing. I know that I could have done it much faster if I had used real stencils, rather than ones that I printed off of the web, but live and learn. (This is where being such a cheapskate sometimes bites me in the you-know-where).
On my next project, I drew inspiration from ThriftyDecorChick. Her blog is fabulous and I want to be like her when I grow up!! Ok, here's what I did: I found some approx. 12x12 pieces of wood in the garage. I spray painted the edges brown. Then, I heavily coated the top with modge podge, placed a piece of scrapbook paper on top and then another coat of modge podge on the paper. The one on the top left has some little faux flowers hot glued on the corners. Super duper easy, fun and cheap!
I did the same thing with these. (Wow, that picture didn't come out well). You can see the seem on the far left one a little, but that one is in the corner of the room, so it's not that noticable.
I've done a few more things around the house, but I'll save them for the next post. Don't want to get ahead of ourselves! :-)
